The Fleet Maintenance Department at Lower Allen Township oversees the maintenance and repairs of 45 vehicles and well over 150 items including equipment and related attachments used in municipal government. These include police vehicles, ambulances, fire apparatus, large and small trucks, and specialty vehicles and equipment.
The Fleet department is also involved in the purchase of vehicles and equipment, either leading the process or as an advisor and is responsible for vehicle and equipment maintenance records. During snow storms, the department employees work with the Public Works Coordinator as snow plow operators.
